dated for 1861, with 39in. barrel (traces of finish, some mild pitting), London commercial proofs, block and blade fore-sight, elevating ladder rear-sight, plain lock signed 'L.A.CO' below the date and with crown and 'V.R.' device at tail (all rubbed), walnut full-stock (cracked at toe), brass furniture, the heel-plate spur engraved 'W.C.F' in script below ordnance stamps, three iron barrel-bands, jag-ended iron ramrod and complete with its chained nipple protector
