28in. black powder only barrel with Metford rifling, the breech end engraved 'METFORD 1832. GEORGE GIBBS 39 CORN ST. BRISTOL', open sights with two folding leaf sights (missing tangent sight), block-mounted bead fore-sight with flip-up moonsight and with a folding adjusting peepsight mounted at the hand, frame number 151, Farquharson's patent use number 678, bolted side safety with gold-inlaid 'BOLTED' detail, fine acanthus scroll engraving, the left side with a roundel engraved 'GEORGE GIBBS BRISTOL', the right with 'FARQUHARSON'S PATENT 678, retaining traces of colour-hardening, 14 3/8in. figured pistolgrip stock (insert repairs to comb) with engraved steel pistolgrip-cap (with trap) and chequered steel buttplate, the heel with a shield-shaped escutcheon engraved '1', weight 7lb. 5oz.
