circa 1880, with nickel-plated 2 1/2in. sideways hinged barrels signed in italics 'COLT' along the top, small crescent fore-sight, London proofs, nickel-plated open frame, upright hammer and plated spur trigger, first type frame fitted with hooked birdshead ivory grips, the left hand example period engraved with a lion crest and a monogram 'TBM', some flaking to plated finish
