private purchase circa 1888, with 33 1/4in. barrel, the nocksform signed 'FIELD, LONDON' and marked with the serial number, block and blade fore-sight, elevating ladder rear-sight, plain slab-sided receiver signed 'FIELD LONDON' on the left, tear-drop cocking indicator on the right, walnut butt-stock with iron heel-plate, walnut fore-end with two iron barrel-bands bearing 'W.D.' ordnance stamps and broad arrow marks, iron clearing rod and later leather sling, refinished throughout
