dated for 1861, with 39in. barrel, the breech with faint stamp 'TOWER', block and blade fore-sight, elevating ladder rear-sight, commercial London proofs and ordnance acceptance stamps at breech, solid top-tang, plain lock with 'V.R.' crown device at tail and 'L.A.Co.' and date forwards of the hammer, chained nipple protector, chequered walnut full-stock with brass furniture except three iron barrel-bands and jag-ended ramrod
