Continental circa 1750 with later conversion to percussion, blued 6 7/8in. heavily swamped octagonal barrel (possibly re-lined), silver bead fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight, borderline engraved top-tang, borderline engraved lock with further florally engraved detail, retaining remnants of the original pan and fitted with a carved and engraved hammer, walnut half-stock with smooth bag-shaped butt fitted with a later trap at heel, iron furniture and replacement iron ramrod
