A 12-BORE SIDELOCK EJECTOR, serial no. 44020,
circa 1927, 28in. nitro reproved barrels (in 2025), the rib engraved 'HOLLOWAY & NAUGHTON LD. MAKERS BIRMINGHAM', the breech ends with acanthus scroll detailing, 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. and 3/4 choke, left wall at 14, treble-grip action with hidden third bite and side-clips, the toplever engraved and gold-inlaid with a shield initialled 'H&N', automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, the fences carved in high relief with circular vignettes of dogs heads, the action, lockplates and furniture with fine acanthus scroll engraving surrounding game scene vignettes of hound and fowl, 14 1/2in. highly-figured stock (minor setting cracks) with ornately bordered chequering and horn buttplate, the fore-end wood carved en suite, weight 6lb. 5oz.
