for between 1829-35, with re-browned damascus 28in. barrels, the broad top-rib signed 'ALDEN & SMITH, 55 PARLIAMENT ST, LONDON' (rubbed), bead fore-sight, gamebird engraved to the rib-end, moulded breech-blocks with engraved plugs, fully engraved long top-tang, borderline and scroll moustached back-action locks signed 'ALDEN & SMITH', chequered walnut half-stock (small crack forming alongside tip of top-tang), engraved iron furniture and brass mounted ebony ramrod, together with its walnut storage case numbered to the gun (lid cracked), the interior line and compartmented in embossed leatherette, the inside of lid bearing a parchment trade label 'SMITH & ALDEN (FROM J. MANTONS) GUN MAKERS TO THE ROYAL FAMILY, 55 PARLIAMENT STREET, LONDON' and containing a period flask along with some cleaning tools (one compartment lid and wad box absent)
