A SCARCE .22 (L/R) SINGLE-SHOT POCKET-RIFLE, MODEL '1870 SMALL-FRAME', serial no. 2044,
produced between 1870-90, with octagonal 15in. barrel, tunnel fore-sight, buckhorn rear-sight with auxiliary aperture, fluted breech marked 'FRANK WESSON WORCESTER MASS PATENTED MAY 31 1870, twist opening, manual ejector, plated frame (plating renewed), central hammer, spur trigger and smooth walnut grips, complete with its plated wire skeleton stock with matching number, overall length with stock attached 29 1/2in., approximate weight including stock 2 7/8lbs.
