for 1866, with 20in. unsigned barrel (traces of the 'King's Improvement' details), small double notch folding rear-sight, fore-sight integral with the barrel-band, brass receiver of 'Henry' form with pronounced step forwards of the hammer, flat faced loading-gate with long spring and twin fixing screws, the top-tang with early two-screw fitment, saddle-ring to left hand side, walnut butt-stock (concealing the serial number) with period working repair at wrist, crescent heel-plate with central trap-door, iron under-lever with small finger-loop, walnut fore-end, iron barrel-band and full length magazine with flush end-plug
