THE MAJOR PARTS OF A SCARCE 12-BORE THEOPHILUS MURCOTT 1871 PATENT 'MOUSETRAP' LEVER-COCKING PUSH-FORWARD UNDERLEVER HAMMERLESS NON-EJECTOR, serial no. 2611, circa 1875, 30in. nitro reproved damascus barrels (in 1992), rib engraved 'THEOPS MURCOTT'S PATENT. 68 HAYMARKET. LONDON. and with acanthus scroll detailing, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. choke in both, Murcott patent hammerless action, patent no. 1003 of 15th April 1871, use number 2611, push-forward underlever, manual lever safety with gold-inlaid 'LOCK'D' detail, profusely engraved with acanthus scrollwork with floral bouquets and feathered bordering, the lockplates signed 'T. MURCOTT'S PATENT' in scroll banners, 14 7/8in. figured stock with steel heel and toe plates, disassembled but appearing at leas mostly complete
