A PATTERN 1827 NAVAL OFFICER'S SWORD, mid-19th Century, with 31 1/2 in. etched and fullered blade with brass proved plug in ricasso, brass hilt, guard with folding scabbard lock, fouled anchor cypher and lion's head pommel, copper wire bound grip together with its black leather scabbard with brass fittings decorated with scroll-work, blade rusted and pitted, with almost all etching polished out, guard dented and hinge damaged, scabbard damaged with crude tape repairs, locket cypher missing, 38 in. overall
