for 1900, 30in. nitro reproved Whitworth-steel chopperlump barrels (loose on actions, some pits and dents No.1), ribs engraved 'J. PURDEY & SONS, AUDLEY HOUSE, SOUTH AUDLEY STREET, LONDON. MADE OF SIR JOSEPH WHITWORTH'S FLUID PRESSED STEEL.' (worn No.2), 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. and 1/2 choke, toplevers engraved '1' and '2', removable striker discs, automatic safeties with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' details, arrow cocking-indicators, best fine acanthus scroll engraving with floral bouquets, brushed bright finish, 15in. figured stocks including 7/8in. wooden extensions, fore-end woods with losses and minor crack to wood No.2, weight 7lb. (No.1) and 6lb. 14oz. (No.2)
