A 4mm (ZIMMER) RIMFIRE TARGET RIFLE SIGNED PHIL ERNSTBERGER, TIRSCHENREUTH, no visible serial number, German circa 1920, with heavy 27in. octagonal 'barrel', the front 7 3/4in. housing the Zimmer mechanism, the mechanism loaded via an external lever mounted back from the muzzle, protected fore-sight, no provision for rear-sight, micro-adjustable pan-head peep-sight mounted to the top-tang, chequered walnut butt-stock with Tyrolean cheek-piece and heavy Swiss-style heel-plate, decorative chequered panel to the right side of butt, replacement fore-end, complex finger-grooved trigger guard bow acting as the cocking lever, double set triggers and swivels for sling
