circa 1901, 30in. nitro reproved barrels (in 2018, partially struck off), rib engraved with a flash of scroll at the breech end and with 'CHARLES BOSWELL. MAKER. 126. STRAND. LONDON. W.C.', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/2 and 3/4 choke, treble-grip action, automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, fine border and acanthus scroll engraving interspersed with floral bouquets, a nye of pheasants on the right, the left with a pair of hounds on point, the underside with a series of vignettes depicting pheasants and grouse in their naturalistic habitats, the triggerguard with a hound flushing feather, retaining traces of original colour-hardening and finish, 14 1/4in. figured stock including buttplate, weight 6lb. 10oz., in a brass-cornered leather case
