for 1863, with octagonal 4in. barrel signed on the top-flat 'ADDRESS COL SAML. COLT NEW YORK U.S. AMERICA', open iron frame and five-shot cylinder with visible scene (trigger spring at fault), brass grip-straps and trigger guard, smooth walnut grip, all matching numbers (wedge possibly re-numbered)
