AN EXCEPTIONAL CASED 80-BORE DAW PATENT PERCUSSION REVOLVER OF PRESENTATION QUALITY, serial no. 1491,
circa 1860, with 5 1/2in. ovate sighted barrel, the top flat inscribed 'GEORGE H. DAW, 57 THREADNEEDLE ST. LONDON, PATENT NO 1491', fitted with a colour hardened under-lever rammer of compound linkage design, open border and scroll engraved frame marked 'PATENT NO 1491', five shot London proved colour hardened cylinder (finish faded), double action mechanism, the hammer with shaped and moulded flash shield, chequered walnut grip with engraved and colour hardened back-strap and domed butt-cap, lanyard ring at heel, the revolver retaining the majority of its original finish and colour and complete in its original green baize lined and partitioned oak case, George Daw trade label inside lid, together with period mould, flask, loading rod and oil bottle
