A FRENCH MODEL 1866 BAYONET FOR THE CHASSEPOT RIFLE AND A MODEL 1874 BAYONET FOR THE GRAS RIFLE, 1) dated 1872, with 22 1/2 in. single-edged yataghan blade fullered on each side, back engraved for St. Etienne arsenal, ricasso with inspection marks, steel quillioned cross-guard with inspection marks and stamped 'P 32569', brass hilt, steel scabbard stamped '71199', blade with some staining, scabbard with smoot pitting; 2) dated 1879, with 20 1/2 in. single-edged blade with inspection marks on forte, steel cross-guard with inspection marks and stamped 'F H 27800', wooden grips, brass pommel, blade with some blinded pitting and staining
