M1874 dated1879, 20 1/2 in. single edged blade, back engraved for St Etienne arsenal, cross-guard with matching serial number of 19944 to scabbard, wooden grips, brass pommel, blade stained cross-guard and scabbard heavily rusted and pitted, together with a socket bayonet with 14 in. triangular blade fullered on the reverse two sides, 4 in. socket with spring catch, heavily cleaned and upper edges of blade filed back, socket catch a probable replacement, plus a bullet-mould, sling swivel and bullets and balls, including some hexagonal Whitworths
