circa 1898, 26 3/8in. nitro reproved barrel (in 2025), (re-chambered and smoothbored from a C/F rook rifle calibre), engraved 'CHARLES LANCASTER 151 NEW BOND STR LONDON PATENT HAMMERLESS NON-FOULING SMOOTH OVAL BORE RIFLING', 2 1/2in. chamber, bored approx. true cyl, treble-grip action incorporating H.A.A Thorn patent trigger cocking mechanism, part of patent modification no. 213 of 16th January 1882, slender toplever, non-selective ejector, border and scroll engraving, brushed bright and reblued finish, 14 1/2in. stock including buttplate, weight 5lb. 3oz., in its leather case
