circa 1893, 26in. unsigned nitro barrel, block mounted open sights with four folding leaf sights, white metal sight lines and marked for 200, 300, 400 and 500 yards, block-mounted bead foresight, the breech end mounted with an Aldis Brothers (Birmingham) brass mounted telescopic sight, no. 172274, frame number 376, action number 894, bolted side safety with gold-inlaid 'BOLTED' detail, the top tang mounted with a folding adjustable peep sight, the action and furniture engraved with fine acanthus scrollwork and on the left a beaded oval cartouche engraved 'GEORGE GIBBS BRISTOL', 13 7/8in. pistolgrip stock with engraved steel pistolgrip-cap (with trap), sling eyes and including 7/8in. recoil pad, weight 6lb. 7oz. (unscoped) and 7lb. 11oz. (with scope)
