ARMY & NAVY C.S.L. .410 (SMOOTHBORED) SINGLE-BARRELLED SIDELEVER HAMMER ROOK RIFLE, serial no. 22492, circa 1897, 26 1/8in. smoothbored octagonal turned to round nitro reproved barrel (smoothbored from a rook rifle calibre and Birmingham proofed in 1984), wave cut top flat with 'ARMY & NAVY C.S.L. LONDON.', 2 1/2in. chamber, bored approx. 1/4 choke, non-selective ejector, beaded border and acanthus scroll engraving, much renewed colour-hardening, 14 1/2in. pistolgrip stock with steel pistolgrip-cap, weight 4lb. 5oz.
