AN UNUSUAL WILLIAM IV OFFICER'S SWORD, circa 1830s, with a single-edged 32 in. curved blade fullered on each side attached to a Pattern 1822 gothic hilt with the royal cypher of William IV and folding guard, black fish-shin grip, together with it's black leather scabbard with brass fittings, this appears to be a P1822 hilt merged with an earlier blade, possibly from a Pattern 1803 Light Infantry Officer's Sword, blade heavily cleaned with traces of blinded pitting and leaving no engraving, edge nicks, guard dented, wire binding absent from grip, scabbard heavily worn with losses to the leather exposing large patches of the wooden liner which itself is cracked and split with small losses, furniture with shallow denting, some small losses to the liner
