WOODWARD & SONS 12-BORE 'THE AUTOMATIC' PUSH-FORWARD UNDERLEVER SNAP-ACTION SIDELOCK NON-EJECTOR, serial no. 3624, circa 1879, 28in. sleeved nitro barrels retaining original rib (inscription worn almost illegible, some damage to top-rib), 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 3/4 choke in both, carved fences, automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'BOLTED' detail, dipped-edge lockplates, border and acanthus scroll engraving, the underside with 'THE AUTOMATIC WOODWARD'S PATENT', 14 1/2in. figured stock, weight 6lb. 7oz.
