ARMSTRONG & CO. 12-BORE BOXLOCK EJECTOR, serial no. 42147, circa 1920, 30in. nitro reproved (in 2010) Whitworth-steel barrels, rib engraved 'ARMSTRONG & CO. NEWCASTLE-ON-TYNE. (SIR JOSEPH WHITWORTH'S COMPRESSED FLUID STEEL)', right wall thickness at 19, 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. 1/2 and 3/4 choke, treble-grip scroll-back action with carved arcaded fences, automatic safety with engraved 'SAFE' detail, fine beaded border and scrolling acanthus engraving, surrounding scenes of pointer and pheasant and a covey of English partridge, the toplever and triggerguard with a portraits of pointers, retaining very slight traces of original colour-hardening and finish, 14in. 3/8in. highly-figured stock including 1/2in. wooden extension, light damage to fore-end wood, weight 6lb. 7oz.
