A 15-BORE FLINTLOCK SINGLE-BARRELLED SPORTING GUN, serial number obscured,
circa 1790, with browned octagonal to sixteen-sided to round 30in. barrel, gold lined oval poincon at breech signed 'MANTON, LONDON' (worn), single gold band behind, plain lock re-signed 'MANTON' and converted back to flint, relined touch-hole, walnut half-stock chequered at the wrist, iron furniture, twin escutcheoned barrel keys and replacement ramrod

Provenance: The serial number of which only traces remain on the underside of the barrel would appear to consist of four digits possibly commencing '16'
