A BETTER FRENCH MODEL 1866 YATAGHAN SWORD BAYONET, dated 1871, 22 1/2 in. single-edged blade fullered on each side, back engraved for St Etienne Arsenal, quillioned cross-guard with inspection marks and numbered '4Q24' to one side and '0 10737' over, brass hilt, steel scabbard with throat stamped '4Q86' on one side and '0 10737' [matching number on re-issue] over, some light knocks to the grip and a little shallow denting and blinded pitting to the scabbard
