Belgian circa 1870 and possibly by Francotte, with round nickel-plated 6in. barrel, applied fore-sight, octagonal breech with borderline arabesque engraving, the front of barrel mount stamped with an 'F' below a crown, open iron frame engraved with further arabesques and scrolls, fully fluted twelve-shot cylinder, loading gate to recoil shield, double action mechanism with guarded trigger, smooth ebony bag-shaped grips with lanyard ring at heel and plunge ejector, retaining a fair amount of an older replating
