WATSON BROS 12-BORE 'PHANTOM' LIGHTWEIGHT BOXLOCK NON-EJECTOR, serial no. 4649, circa 1890, 24in. nitro reproved damascus barrels (in 1988), sunken rib engraved 'WATSON BROS' and '1' at the breech-end, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl. and 1/4 choke, variant Anson & Deeley patent hammerless action, patent no. 1756 of 11th May 1875, use number 4622, treble-grip, removable striker discs, carved slender fences, Westley Richards patent toplever, automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, border and fine acanthus scroll engraving, the floorplate gold-inlaid 'PHANTOM', patinated and reblued finish overall, 14 3/8in. figured stock including buttplate, short fore-end with lever-release, weight 5lb. 7oz.
