A CASED PAIR OF .41 (RIMFIRE) COGSWELL & HARRISON RETAILED COLT No.3 THUER PATENT DERRINGER PISTOLS, serial numbers 34435 and 35166,
circa 1885, with reblued 2 1/2in. London proved barrels signed along the top 'COLT', crescent fore-sights, brass frames marked with a rampant horse trade-mark and a small letter 'C' together with the calibre marking on the left, the back-straps both signed 'COGSWELL & HARRISON, LONDON', exposed central hammers and spur triggers, smooth walnut birdshead grips, in a walnut casing with burr veneer lid (some warping), the interior lined and compartmented in blue baize, diminutive Cogswell & Harrison trade-label inside lid and two lidded compartments with bone handles
