circa 1867, 30in. nitro reproved bold damascus barrels, the rib engraved 'SAMl. & C. SMITH PRINCES STREET LEICESTER SQUARE. LONDON.', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl. in both, some pitting and rivelling, right wall at 19-, carved percussion fences, Jones patent rotary underlever, non-rebounding back-action locks of classic Smith design with finely engraved faceted hammers, action incorporating E.C. Hodges patent extractor, part of patent no. 3113 of December 4th 1865, the flats marked with the Hodges tower and use number 12, bold acanthus scroll engraving with ornate ropework bordering, 14in. figured stock with engraved steel heel and toe plates, weight 6lb. 9oz.
