A BELGIAN .577/450 MARTINI-HENRY 'MASCATE' CARBINE, serial number 4065, late 19th Century, 20 1/2 in. sighted barrel stamped 'Premier Qualite' and 'MARTINI / MASCATE', falling block action, walnut stock with chequered forend and wrist, inlaid wrist decoration, butt-plate with trap, sling swivels and clearing rod, 'Muscate' martinis were made in Belgium for export to the middle-east, particularly Persia
