circa 1890, 27 3/4in. sleeved nitro barrels, the rib engraved 'JOHN NEWARK. 26 & 27. BAILEY LANE. COVENTRY', 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. and 1/2 choke, J.T. Rogers and J. Rogers patent treble-grip barrel-cocking hammerless action, patent no. 397 of 29th January 1881, slim toplever, automatic safety with brass 'SAFE' plaque, elongated cocking levers, stepped back-action lockplates (missing lock screws), acanthus scroll engraving, the lockplates signed 'J. NEWARK', brushed bright and reblued finish overall, 13 3/4in. figured stock including 1 3/4in. wooden extension, slender fore-end with horn finial, weight 5lb. 8oz.
