A RARE .22 WEBLEY & SCOTT VULCAN CUSTOM SPECIAL BREAK-BARREL AIR-RIFLE, serial no. 900267,
one of only 110 produced circa 1982, with blued 19 1/4in. barrel, tunnel fore-sight, adjustable rear-sight, blued air-chamber with machined rails for a telescopic sight, gold-plated trigger and safety-catch, chequered walnut half-stock fitted with a ventilated rubber recoil pad, blued trigger guard, the whole appearing in very little used collector's condition
Provenance: The Vulcan Custom by Webley (also known as the 'Special Export' or 'S.E.') was only produced in a limited edition of 110 rifles. It is a very rare rifle. Sadly, at its introduction, the Custom did not offer good value for money against the ordinary Deluxe edition, which for £15 less at the time of production, offered near identical specifications bar the gold-plated details and the stock of French walnut. The rifles proved difficult to sell and were eventually 'unloaded' onto the commercial market at a knock-down price
