A RARE 4.4mm STELLA VZ.36 LEVER-COCKING MILITARY TRAINING AIR-RIFLE, no visible serial number,
one of only a small number known and manufactured in 1936, with blued 20in. barrel, Mauser K98K style fore and rear-sight, blued air-chamber marked 'STELLA VZ.36', the left side at rear 'PAT.OHL.Cv.P. 4744-36', upward swinging cocking lever mounted on the right hand side with straight bolt-handle, rear-mounted flag safety, beech three-quarter stock with blued iron furniture also imitating the Mauser K98K service rifle and under-barrel clearing rod, fine external possibly refinished condition, missing magazine.
Provenance: It is generally believed by collectors that less than 100 of these rifles were produced by Kovo AS of Prague, Czechoslovakia before World War Two halted production. Despite being designed as military training rifles, they were all sold onto the commercial market. At the time of writing, only twelve examples are known in collections
