for 1898, 30in. replacement nitro chopperlump barrels, the rib engraved 'BARRELS MADE BY JAMES PURDEY & SONS. AUDLEY HOUSE. SOUTH AUDLEY ST. LONDON. ENGLAND.' and gold-inlaid '2' at the breech end, loop numbers 65153 / 4, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 1/2 choke, internally pitted, toplever gold-inlaid '2', automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, gold-inlaid cocking-indicators, carved shell fences, bold Royal scroll engraving with ornate bordering and some floral details, the lockplates with 'HOLLAND & HOLLAND' in elaborate cartouches, the underside with a further cartouche engraved 'ROYAL EJECTOR', retaining traces of colour-hardening, 14 3/4in. stock including 1 1/4in. wooden extension and full comb replacement insert, the fore-end with losses to edges of wood, weight 6lb. 10oz., with a slip
