A LATE 18TH CENTURY WHITE-METAL MOUNTED GERMAN HUNTING SWORD WITH COMPANION KNIFE & SCABBARD,
with straight 21 3/4in. plain blade of flat oval cross-section, a small rectangular maker's stamp possibly marked 'VIST', small white-metal near oval sub-guard, cast and polished 'S' shaped white-metal cross-guard with integral moulded mount above joined to the frame, flat polished horn grips held by three large domed white-metal rivets, the pommel formed as a stylised eagle's head and complete with its black leather scabbard with white-metal throat, central band and drag, the throat with further pocket containing a matching companion knife fitted with horn scales also held by three domed rivets, frog button absent from mount
