* A RARE PATTERN 1889 ARMY STAFF SERGEANT'S SWORD BY WILKINSON, dated 1898, with 32 3/4 in. single-edged blade fullered on each side, ricasso marked 'WILKINSON LONDON', date '5 '98' and two Wilkinson inspection mark strikes, with a further strike, bend-test 'X' and Broad Arrow over, Brass hilt with wire-bound fish-skin grip, pierced gothic guard with Victorian royal cypher, quillion stamped 'C /I\ G' [Cape Government ownership mark], backstrap with hand-punched rack number '39KI', blade heavily stained with some pitting, no scabbard
