A .450 (No.2 MUSKET) DEELEY & EDGE 1873 PATENT FALLING-BLOCK SPORTING RIFLE, serial no. 90,
circa 1875, the original serial number lost, with round 28 5/8in. barrel, raised flat sighting-rib, the front third with file cutting, dove-tailed fore-sight with replacement bone blade, 'Africa' rear-sight consisting of a folding ladder and six further graduated folding leaves, the rib also marked 'WHITWORTH PATENT', border and scroll engraved slab-sided action, the left side signed 'WESTLEY RICHARDS & CO, LONDON' within banners and marked 'DEELEY & EDGE'S PATENT' at the lower right corner, hammerless falling-block action, walnut straight hand butt-stock (chequering rubbed at wrist), moulded splinter fore-end and replacement clearing rod below barrel
