A FINE CASED 54-BORE PERCUSSION TRANTER'S PATENT TRIGGER-COCKING REVOLVER, serial no. 20207T,
third model circa 1858, with blued 6in. octagonal barrel, engraved band at muzzle and scroll engraving at barrel-throat, beaded pillar fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight to the rear of the unsigned border-engraved top-strap, borderline and scroll engraved blued frame marked 'TRANTER'S PATENT', inverted 'Y' shaped safe-spring, colour-hardened borderline engraved five-shot cylinder (colour faded), Tranter's patent trigger cocking mechanism with spurless hammer, swept chequered walnut semi saw-handled grip with engraved iron cap and signed rammer mounted to left side of barrel, much original finish throughout and together with its maker's walnut case lined and compartmented in green baize, complete with Tranter's Patent mould, a fine condition Dixon bag-shaped flask, mahogany loading rod, Tranter's lubricating compound and bullets, oil bottle, turn-screw, nipple-key and Eley's Superior caps, all appearing little used
