A CASED PAIR OF .30 (RIMFIRE) WOODWARD'S PATENT TURN-OVER VEST PISTOLS, serial numbers 151 and 195,
circa 1865, the first pistol with colour hardened 2 1/4in. barrels, silver plated borderline engraved frame, the left side marked 'WOODWARD'S' over the serial number and 'REGD. FEB'Y. 4 1863' all within an oval border, exposed hammer with top-tang safe, chequered walnut grips and much finish, the second similar but colour faded on the barrels and with blued finish to frame, in a period oak casing with adapted interior relined in green baize
