A UNITED STATES .32 RIM-FIRE 6-SHOT SIDE-HAMMER REVOLVER SIGNED ALLEN & WHEELOCK, batch number 434, circa 1860, with features of both Second and Third Models, 4 in. octagonal barrel, morticed front-sight, left flat with stamped 'ALLEN & WHEELOCK WORCESTER, MASS U.S. / ALLEN'S PATENT SEPT. 7, NOV. 9, 1858', closed frame with left side stamped 'JULY 3, 1860', plain cylinder, walnut grips with matching batch numbers to frame, base of butt-strap engraved 'James Phillips' appearing to be period, worn with some staining and blinded pitting to the barrel, barrel stamping and butt engraving faint
