A GOOD CASED PAIR OF MODERN REPRODUCTION .44 FLINTLOCK 'MANTON' PISTOLS WITH SPARE BARRELS, serial numbers 071 and 072,
manufactured 1989, with four blued octagonal 10in. barrels (both pistols with one smooth and one rifled), each barrel signed on the top-flat 'DOVER STREET', the undersides marked 'HEGE-WAFFENSCHMIEDE UBERLINGEN W-GERMANY', bead fore-sights, brass poincons inlaid to the top of each breech-block marked in raised letters, 'MANTON & SON LONDON' together with a crown, lined touch-holes with screwed plugs, fully engraved top-tangs with standing notch rear-sights, border engraved clipped tail flat locks signed in script 'JOHN MANTON & SON PATENT', swan-necked engraved cocks with bolted safes, Manton patent lozenge rainproof pans with central dividers, roller frizzens (refaced), engraved and signed 'MANTON & SON PATENT', walnut half-stocks with chequered bag-shaped grips, set-back guarded single set-triggers with side extensions, horn fore-end caps and brass mounted wood ramrods (some tarnish to brightwork), in a period style walnut casing lined and compartmented in green baize, ring-handle to lid with central escutcheon marked 'B. DICKENS ESQ.' and complete with a full complement of accessories including a mould, loading mallet, wad-punch, three-way flask, oil-bottle, bow-tie turn-screw pair, flint wallet and other sundries
