A CASED PAIRING OF A .41 (RIMFIRE) COLT 'CLOVERLEAF' HOUSE REVOLVER & A No.3 DERRINGER PISTOL, serial numbers 636 and 7837,
composed circa 1880, the first for 1871, with 3in. blued barrel signed on two lines 'COLTS HOUSE PISTOL' over 'HARTFORD CT. USA', solid frame with distinctive four-shot blued 'cloverleaf' cylinder, exposed hammer, spur trigger and smooth walnut birdshead grips, brass frame, bluing worn to barrel and cylinder, the second circa 1880, with reblued 2 1/2in. barrel signed 'COLT', plated open frame, exposed hammer, spur trigger and smooth walnut birdshead grips, in a mahogany case of apparent period manufacture lined and compartmented in blue baize for these pistols and bearing a 'W. Watson & Son' parchment trade-label inside the lid and together with six inert cartridges
