BLACK POWDER EXPRESS ROTARY-UNDERLEVER DOUBLE HAMMER RIFLE, serial no. 2100 / 8919, circa 1870, 28 3/4in. black powder only barrels, rib de-file cut and with (spurious) re-engraved 'G. E. LEWIS'S EXPRESS RIFLE 32 & 33 LOWER LOVEDAY ST. BIRMINGHAM NO. 2100', the right barrel flat with 8919 (partially rubbed), open sights and two folding leaf sights, bead fore-sight, Jones patent rotary-underlever, carved percussion fences, non-rebounding back-action locks spuriously signed 'G.E. LEWIS', (left hammer cracked), acanthus scroll engraving (worn and some pitting), skeletal steel pistolgrip (worn), replacement screws overall, 14 3/4in. replacement stock with minor splits, replacement fore-end wood, weight 9lb. 8oz., in a modern leather case
