A SCARCE PATTERN 1863 YATAGHAN SWORD BAYONET FOR THE WHITWORTH RIFLE, circa 1864, with 22 3/4 in. single-edged blade fullered on each side, ricasso with crown above 'V. R', with Enfield inspection mark over, further inspection mark and 'H' on blade back, steel cross-guard, black pressed leather chequered grips, further inspection mark to hilt back, bird's head pommel with circular mortise, with it's black leather scabbard with steel fittings, some staining to blade, scabbard grazed, back of locket with shallow denting
