A CASED PAIR OF .650 PERCUSSION OFFICER'S PISTOLS SIGNED BROWN & RODDA, LONDON, no visible serial numbers,
circa 1855, with octagonal 6 1/2in. sighted barrels, the top-flats signed 'BROWN & RODDA, TITCHBORNE ST, LONDON', colour hardened breech-blocks with moulded snails, engraved top-tangs, border and scroll engraved colour hardened bar-action locks signed 'BROWN & RODDA', engraved dolphin-headed hammers, walnut full-stocks with finely chequered swept grips, blued spurred trigger guards and captive iron rammers, strong traces of colour and finish to both and in their period mahogany storage-case, lined and compartmented in green baize, Brown & Rodda parchment trade label inside lid and complete with a good Dixon two-way flask, loading rod, scissors mould and other sundry tools and pots
