A RARE 12-BORE 'FLUES MODEL 7E' SINGLE-BARRELLED EJECTOR TRAP GUN, serial no. 290375 T,
for 1918, 34in. nitro reproved barrel with raised ventilated wave cut tapering rib with button bead fore-sight and intermediate bead sight, 2 3/4in. chamber, bored approx. 3/4 choke, Emil Flues three-piece lock action with cross-bolt extension, hold-open toplever, gold-washed trigger, ornate border engraving surrounding boldly carved stylised oak leaves and acorns on a stippled background, with game scene vignettes in yellow and rose gold of wildfowl and game birds to the sides, the underside gold-inlaid with the eagle design and 'MADE IN U.S.A.', the triggerguard with a gold-inlaid stag's head and the triggerguard tang serial numbered 290375 T, action bar marked '7' and '12', retaining traces of original colour-hardening, 14 1/4in. highly-figured straight hand stock with ornate fleur de lys bordering to the chequering and including 1in. recoil pad, blank gold shield-shape escutcheon, 11 1/2in. beavertail fore-end with florally-engraved central push button release and horn finial, the bordering to the chequering en suite to the stock, weight 8lb. 8oz.
