A 9mm (PARA) DWM LUGER P08 LANGE or 'ARTILLERY' SEMI-AUTOMATIC SERVICE PISTOL, serial no. 4512, with stockboard and holster no. 6681,
the pistol dated for 1917, with blued 8in. barrel, dove-tailed fore-sight and elevating tangent rear-sight, dated nocksform, maker monogrammed toggle, blued frame with straw finish to ancillaries, chequered wood grips, the left marked with a large number '9', all matching numbers except for a later alloy-based magazine (numbered 7408), much original finish and colour, with its period leather service-holster with provision for a magazine loading tool and a cleaning rod (both absent) and a period wooden stock-board (losses to strapping, leather worn), together with a certificate of proof
