circa 1850, with 29in. browned octagonal tapered barrel, bead fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight with three additional folding leaves, top-flat stamped 'F READER', scroll engraved breech and top-tang, border and scroll engraved bar-action lock stamped 'F READER', scroll engraved dolphin-head hammer, walnut half-stock (cracked but old repair), chequered at wrist, engraved iron patchbox and furniture, square back triggerguard, white-metal barrel key escutcheons and nose-cap, brass tipped wooden ramrod
